King Nature is King-Napped (kidnapped)!
After Dr. Pollution’s recent attacks on GreenVille failed (attack on Hannah Heart and the carbon-megaphone), he was understandably very upset. Whatever he planned didn't work or was ruined by GoGreen Man and Professor Fusionstein.
Dr. Pollution needed a new plan. He was so upset thinking about his failures, he started mixing chemicals at random to try and make a new chemical compound. But again, he wasn't successful. In frustration, Dr. Pollution threw his test tubes against the wall, splashing the toxic chemicals all over his lab.
In Dr. Pollution's lab, there were pictures of all the people in GreenVille that he wanted to destroy. When he threw the tubes, the chemicals melted the pictures creating a ghastly mess. As Dr. Pollution stared at the mess, his eyes rested on King Nature's distorted picture. All at once he burst out, "Yes!" A new, evil idea had entered Dr. Pollution's mind.
He thought because King Nature was ruling over GoGreen Man and all of GreenVille, if he got rid of King Nature and replaced him with one of his followers like Pol' Tick Al, he could rule over GreenVille.
Dr. Pollution was mulling over his ideas, “If I helped Pol’ Tick Al take the place of King Nature, then I would rule over him. So, I would actually be the ruler of GreenVille! HAHAHAHAHA!” Dr. Pollution was ecstatic with the possibilities. He was so excited with his new plan, he roared, "I'm the best, smartest man in the whole world! This time I will show everyone what I can do." Right away, Dr. Pollution started making plans to take over GreenVille, starting with capturing King Nature.
In order for his plans to be successful, he had a few obstacles to overcome. First of all, how could he king-nap King Nature? He was always heavily guarded. Secondly, after he king-napped King Nature, what would he do with him? GoGreen Man already knew about his secret lab (actually, it wasn’t a secret any more). Thirdly, how could he make Pol’ Tick Al king of GreenVille? People didn’t trust him because of his past ideas, so that was going to be difficult to overcome. But Dr. Pollution really wasn’t too worried about it because he knew it was possible. Besides, the smart man that he was, it was already all planned out in his mind.
Dr. Pollution was very pleased with himself and his ideas, so he immediately summoned Pol' Tick Al to come to his lab. While waiting for Pol’ Tick Al to arrive, he started preparing for his new plan.
When Pol' Tick Al arrived at Dr. Pollution’s lab, he saw his lab contents being boxed up. He asked, “What’s going on, Dr. Pollution? Are you leaving GreenVille?” Dr. Pollution wasn’t quite ready to disclose where he was going so he told Pol’ Tick Al, “All I’m going to tell you is that I’m going to a very secure location. For now I’m not telling anyone where it is.” Dr. Pollution then proceeded to tell Pol’ Tick Al about his plan to king-nap King Nature and make Pol’ Tick Al, King of GreenVille. Pol’ Tick Al, of course, thought it was a great plan and was excited at the thought of being king.
One thing bothered him though, so he asked Dr. Pollution, "How will you get rid of King Nature? He has many friends, plus the castle is always heavily guarded." Dr. Pollution said, "That’s easy because I have an invention for it.” His invention was to use holograph images on clothes, making the person wearing them appear invisible. It was kind of like camouflage. The cameras on the clothes record the surrounding areas and immediately display the images on the clothes. It makes it virtually impossible to see a person because they blend into the surrounding area. It’s like a bendable micro-thin TV screen on clothes. Dr. Pollution continued, “Anyway, don’t worry about that just be ready to be in charge when the King is gone. That’s why I called you here. Oh! One thing though, you need to start doing nice things for the other congressmen in order to get their support and trust.” Pol’ Tick Al praised Dr. Pollution’s innovation in coming up with this plan.
While sitting in his office, Pol’ Tick Al thought about what Dr. Pollution had said and agreed that he needed to be nicer to the other congressmen. Of course he’d be nice to them just so he could trick them later! Then he started imagining different scenarios about what would happen when the king disappeared. “There would be chaos and someone would need to restore order. That would need to be me because I know what to say to make the citizens of GreenVille happy and trust me. “
Pol’ Tick Al knew that for GreenVille, the number one issue was the environment. In order to earn the respect of the other politicians and GreenVille’s citizens, he would have to make environmental friendly policies. (Of course he didn't care about the environment, he just wanted everyone to think he did so they would listen to him!)
The next day, he set his plan in motion. While congress was meeting, he commented that there should be more trees planted around GreenVille. He also said that there should be more walking and biking paths around for GreenVille’s citizens to use.
The other congressmen loved his ideas although they were surprised he suggested them. That night on the news, there was a special report on Pol’ Tick Al. They were praising his efforts to “green up” GreenVille.
Even people of GreenVille were excited about Pol’ Tick Al’s new plans and started to think he had changed from being Dr. Pollution's supporter. Even GoGreen Man sent Pol’ Tick Al a note that thanked him for his suggestions to help make GreenVille a better place to live.
Pol’ Tick Al was wickedly smiling to himself, the plan was working. He was getting a lot of positive attention and praise of everyone in GreenVille. He couldn't wait until Dr. Pollution's scheme took place.
When he thought he had earned the respect of most of the people of GreenVille, he called Dr. Pollution. "I think it's time to start the plan. The future of GreenVille is in our hands," he gleefully exclaimed.
Dr. Pollution was thrilled to hear this, "Great job, Pol’ Tick Al! I’ve been working non-stop on my plans to king-nap King Nature. He will be king-napped by me! I will do it myself next week on the night of GreenVille's Environmental Day celebration. HAHAHAHA!” Dr. Pollution thought that was perfect timing and Pol’ Tick Al agreed. The guards would be tired from celebrating GreenVille's Environmental Day, so they knew they wouldn’t be paying as much attention to things going on around them.
The citizens of GreenVille were busy preparing for GreenVille's Environmental Day. Ever since it had been declared a holiday, it was the biggest celebration of the year. Everyone was busy planning for this year’s party, blissfully ignorant of Dr. Pollution’s plans.
Finally, after much preparation, the day arrived. It was time to celebrate GreenVille’s Environmental Day! There was a talent show, fun games and great food for everyone. Even Water Woman, Hannah Heart, Sandra Sunburn and Roger Recycle were a part of this year’s celebration.
Water Woman brought a special water feature that kept changing shape (like from a fish to a bird). Everyone loved her fountain feature, but their favorite water shape was that of the Green Castle. All the children in GreenVille shouted with awe, plus they wanted to play in it!
Hannah Heart brought her newest flower she had created with help her solar sunglasses. Each petal on the flower was a different color of the rainbow. Everyone in GreenVille loved it. As usual, she won the GreenVille Environmental Day’s flower competition with her beautiful flower.
While GoGreen Man was watching over the activities (because he was in charge of security for GreenVille’s Environmental Day), he noticed Hannah Heart. He was pleased to see that she was happy and doing well. His eyes then shifted to a crowd gathering on the other side of the park. To his surprise, Pol’ Tick Al was in the middle of it.
Pol’ Tick Al was at the celebration trying to win the hearts and minds of GreenVille’s citizens. He was out shaking hands and making friendly conversation with them.
GoGreen Man chuckled when he saw that and thought to himself that Pol’ Tick Al had really seemed to change. Before, Pol’ Tick Al would have never mingled in a crowd, much less shaken someone’s hand. It was an amazing sight to see.
All of GreenVille seemed to be at the event except for Professor Fusionstein. GoGreen Man idly wondered what he was up to. He wasn’t worried about him though because he knew that when Professor Fusionstein was focused on a new project, he didn’t keep track of the day or time.
Watching the festivities on TV, Petrol Pirate was irritated to see everyone so happy and carefree. He was still extremely frustrated that he had lost a lot of money with his air conditioner business. He wondered why Dr. Pollution was doing nothing to stop joyful celebration. In a fit of anger he snapped off the TV and stomped off to Dr. Pollution’s lab. When he arrived, the lab was almost empty. In shock, he asked Dr. Pollution, “Why is your lab empty?” Dr. Pollution answered, “I’ve moved to a secret location.” “Where is it?” Petrol Pirate asked. “I can’t tell you. I’m busy right now,” replied Dr. Pollution.
Realizing Dr. Pollution wouldn’t give him a better answer, he moved on to the reason he came. “Why didn’t you do anything to stop the party? Everyone in GreenVille is happy, my business isn't doing well and even Pol’ Tick Al won't answer my phone calls,” ranted Petrol Pirate.
Dr. Pollution smiled to himself. He hadn't told anyone the whole plan because he wanted to keep it as secret as possible. Especially not to Petrol Pirate, because he's not that crafty. (Ok, not very smart!) But, Dr. Pollution thought to himself, “Petrol Pirate might come in handy tonight. He’s very strong, so I will use him to carry out King Nature!” He then told Petrol Pirate to be quiet and listen to him.
Dr. Pollution told Petrol Pirate that today was a great day for GreenVille, but that night would be a great night for Dr. Pollution and his followers. The next day would be a dark day for GreenVille’s citizens with their king missing. "You will follow me tonight, and you will not say a word. Tonight we will king-nap King Nature." Dr. Pollution then went on to explain his plan in more detail. When he was finished, Petrol Pirate was very surprised, excited and ready to go.
When the GreenVille Environmental Day celebration was over, everyone was exhausted but happy. King Nature had even stayed the whole day to celebrate, and returned to his castle tired, but pleased with the way things had turned out.
GoGreen Man was very relieved that nothing happened on this special day. He had been worried Dr. Pollution would try something. Since the party was over and everyone was on their way home, he left too, thinking all was well.
At midnight, clouds were covering the moon and GreenVille was dark and quiet. Not even a car or person was out.
Dr. Pollution was all ready to go to the Green Castle. He looked at the sky and was pleased to see that even the clouds were on his side. With Petrol Pirate waiting beside him, Dr. Pollution put on his camouflage suit and disappeared from Petrol Pirate's eye. Petrol Pirate was scared, “Where did you go, Dr. Pollution?” Dr. Pollution smacked the back of his head, "I'm here! HAHAHAHAHAHA! This is my invention - the camouflage suit. I have an extra one just for you and a blanket to cover the king! Let’s go king-nap the king!" With that, he opened the door to his tunnel, while explaining, “I’ve been secretly digging tunnels underneath GreenVille for a while. This is the way we are going to get the king and take him to my new location. Are you ready?” Petrol Pirate was excited, “Yes, I love it! But how did you do this?” Dr. Pollution explained his petrol drilling machine to Petrol Pirate as they rode in it underground towards the castle. He also explained that the tunnel entrance was near the castle, hidden in the forest.
When they got to the tunnel entrance (or exit!), Dr. Pollution got out his b-dron (bad nanodron). In order to disable the castle's security system, he needed it to go ahead and sneak into the castle. The tiny b-dron's specialty was to sneak into places and cut wires, which is exactly what it did. The Green Castle's security system was quickly disabled and, for extra precaution, a computer virus was put in it. When the b-dron accomplished its mission, Dr. Pollution emerged from the tunnel with Petrol Pirate.
The Green Castle's main security guard was shocked, his security camera wasn't working! Because the king was so tired from participating at the celebration, the guard didn't want to bother him by setting off the alarms. Instead, he tried to fix it himself while sending another security guard to go check on the main wires, just to make sure everything was ok.
In the meantime, Petrol Pirate and Dr. Pollution were able to sneak into the main hall and eventually King Nature's bedroom. King Nature was sound asleep, just like Dr. Pollution thought he would be. Instead of just shooting the sleeping virus in his face to make sure he stayed asleep, Dr. Pollution's ego wanted to see the surprise on the King's face when he realized what happened.
He stood by King Nature's bed and took off his camouflage garment. He then started poking the king to wake him up. When King Nature is in deep sleep, it's very hard to wake him up. When King Nature finally woke up, he saw Dr. Pollution by his bed and was surprised. He asked Dr. Pollution, "Why are you here? I'm the King of GreenVille!" Dr. Pollution replied, "I know you WERE the king, but not anymore because I'm going to king-nap you! You are going to my dungeon. HAHAHAHA!" And with that, he sprayed the sleeping virus in King Nature's startled face.
The virus worked quickly and put King Nature into a deep, pleasant sleep (remember, the scent of chocolate is the last thing they remember!) With the King asleep, Dr. Pollution put his camouflage suit back on and had Petrol Pirate carry King Nature out (while disguised under the camouflage blanket). Even though Petrol Pirate lost his leg in an accident, he was a very strong man. Without any trouble, he was able to carry the heavy (and asleep) King out of the castle.
The guards didn't know what was the matter with the security camera until they found cut wires inside the control board. It was obvious someone did it on purpose, so some of the guards immediately went to check on the King. They also summoned GoGreen Man to come to castle, as it was an emergency.
When the guards entered the King's bedroom, they were astounded. The King wasn't there! The only thing odd or out of place in the room was the faint scent of chocolate. Without delay, they pushed the emergency alarm system which brought search lights out all over the castle. It also alerted all the castle guards and the GreenVille police.
The alarm was sounded too late because Dr. Pollution and Petrol Pirate were already out of the castle and in Dr. Pollution's secret tunnel. To be safe, they covered the tunnel’s forest entrance.
When Dr. Pollution finally stopped the petrol drilling machine and got out, Petrol Pirate was confused, “Where are we? We’ve been in your machine underground for a long time.” As they exited the tunnel, Petrol Pirate was even more disoriented, “Is this near GreenVille? It feels creepy here and I don’t like it.” “Since GoGreen Man knows where my old lab is, he could find King Nature there. In order to keep where King Nature is hidden a secret, I had to move to a new location,” Dr. Pollution explained. It was then that Petrol Pirate noticed another tunnel, this one was concrete. “Well, where are we?” demanded Petrol Pirate. “We are about to go into...Doomsville!” announced Dr. Pollution. There was fear in Petrol Pirate’s face. “But, but, but…it’s dangerous there! I’m going back. I don’t want to go into Doomsville! I heard that people die if they go there.”
To understand the fear in Petrol Pirate’s face, you need to know the history of Doomsville.
Doomsville was Pelvis Pollution’s nuclear power plant (Dr. Pollution’s father). The area around it was closed down and secured after there was a meltdown, a very terrible nuclear accident. (In a nuclear accident, radiation is leaked. Radiation can kill all living cells. Because of that Doomsville has no plants, animals or life of any kind.)
After the accident, the area was off limits to the citizens of GreenVille. No one even attempted to sneak in because they knew how dangerous it was. Besides, Professor Fusionstein’s grandfather, a famous scientist named Ine Shtine, had developed an invisible shield that prevented the radioactivity from escaping and contaminating the atmosphere and surrounding areas.
Even though Doomsville was secured and locked down, Dr. Pollution knew a way to get in. It was perfect because no one would dare to look in such a dangerous place. You may wonder why Dr. Pollution would go there if it was that dangerous. Pelvis Pollution designed the power plant and was involved in building it – plus he owned it. Inside the power plant, there was an underground radiation free zone. It was a place to go in case of an accident. Even though the entire area of Doomsville was radioactive, the secret room was safe and secure. There was access through an underground escape tunnel to the safe zone outside of Doomsville, which is where Dr. Pollution was going with Petrol Pirate and King Nature.
When Petrol Pirate heard about the secret tunnel and the safe hiding place, he was a little less nervous. “That means GoGreen Man won’t find us! He’ll never come here!” Dr. Pollution agreed, “You’re right, but right now we need to hurry up and get King Nature inside before he wakes up. Plus, I need to call Pol’ Tick Al and let him know we successfully king-napped King Nature.”
When GoGreen Man rushed to the Green Castle, he found out the King was missing. Evidence was all over the place with the cut wires and that faint chocolate scent that Dr. Pollution had planned this evil attack. He used the Green Copter to quickly go to Dr. Pollution's lab, but the old lab was empty except for a table with something on it. When GoGreen Man went closer to investigate it, he saw that on the table was a note. It read, "HAHAHA! GoGreen Man, when you see this letter, I will have your King! You will never find me...or King Nature!"
GoGreen Man was so disturbed by this news, he knew had to do something fast, but he didn't even know where to start! He got in his Green Copter and flew all over the skies and surrounding areas of GreenVille to see if there was any trace of Dr. Pollution. He even called Professor Fusionstein. Professor Fusionstein didn't answer the phone because he was still so involved in his new invention. GoGreen Man then went to GVTN (GreenVille Television Network) to post an alert on the news and radio about the King.
As you know, Pol’ Tick Al had already been told by Dr. Pollution about the king-napping and was ready to start his emergency plan. He knew what he needed to do first because he’d been planning for this since Dr. Pollution first told him of his plans. Pol’ Tick Al demanded an emergency meeting with Congress. He also summoned the emergency system for GreenVille to get the police and GoGreen Man involved. Although he knew, and was a part of the king-napping, he pretended to be upset about it.
Because he'd been summoned to the emergency meeting, GoGreen Man had to return from his search. When he went to the meeting, Pol Tick Al confronted him, "What have you been doing? Where is the King? Weren't you responsible for everyone's safety yesterday at GreenVille’s Environmental Day celebration?"
GoGreen Man couldn't say anything because he believed it was true. He felt responsible for everyone's safety, even though the day had ended. Pol' Tick Al then told GoGreen Man, "If anything happens to King Nature, the responsibility is on you! You are not a true helper for GreenVille. I will now be in charge of all emergency situations in GreenVille until we find King Nature." The other congressmen wouldn't say anything because Pol' Tick Al had earned their trust by his recent dramatically changed behavior.
When the sun rose, GreenVille's citizens were finding out that their King was missing. They were worried and sad that such a thing could happen. When Hannah Heart heard what happened to GoGreen Man the previous night she was upset and called him, "It's not your fault, GoGreen Man. We will help you find the King. I will go talk to Professor Fusionstein and let him know what's happening." GoGreen Man agreed and told her that he would have to search harder because Dr. Pollution had moved his lab to a new location.
When Hannah Heart went to Professor Fusionstein’s lab, he was working away on something and couldn't hear her calling him. She knocked and knocked until she finally caught his attention. "Hi, Hannah Heart! What are you doing here? I'm working on a new invention and it's going great! How's your medicine? Do you need more? Is that why you're here?" Hannah Heart was so sad, but she finally broke the news to the Professor. Professor Fusionstein was dismayed to find out what had happened! "I will help you and GoGreen Man as much as I can to help find King Nature." Shaking his head, he continued, “What could be going through Dr. Pollution’s mind right now? Why would he want to capture the King?” He then told Hannah Heart that they had to think positively, even if the outcome didn’t look good.
Pol Tick Al was very excited about his new position. He was pretending to be sad about the King, while secretly planning his next move. In order to be the next King, he would have to hide his evil side from everyone for now. He went to GVTN and made a special announcement for GreenVille. "I am very sad and concerned over recent events taking place in Greenville. You have my word that I will do everything I can to find our wonderful leader. There will be a thorough investigation into the disappearance of the King and I will not rest until I know what happened." The citizens were touched by his words and desire to help, but with each day that passed they became sadder and sadder.
Days passed with GoGreen Man spending all his time searching for King Nature. Even into the night, when people were asleep in their beds, GoGreen Man kept up his investigation. He was determined, at all costs, to find King Nature. But he found nothing, not even a clue.
When Pol Tick Al found out that GoGreen Man couldn't find any trace of King Nature or Dr. Pollution's secret lab, he smugly said to himself, "This is the perfect time to rid GreenVille of GoGreen Man. Once he’s out of the way, then I can get on with becoming king.” Pol’ Tick Al arranged for all the congressmen to get together for a special meeting. He then started the process to remove GoGreen Man from his duties. "It is a sad time for GreenVille. Our King has disappeared and is still missing. Unfortunately this happened because GoGreen Man failed in his responsibility to keep everyone safe on GreenVille's Environmental Day. I propose, sadly, that he be removed from his duties." Before Pol Tick Al could get any further, GoGreen Man (who was filled with guilt over the loss of the King) resigned.
